Step upstairs into our Soap School, tucked above the Apothecary, and begin the new year with a few wonderfully slow and creative hours of traditional soap making.
Fresh Beginnings is our first seasonal collection of the year — inspired by fresh herbs, cleansing botanicals and bright, uplifting scents.
After the bustle of Christmas and the darker days of winter, this experience is all about starting afresh. Think fragrant herbs, beautiful botanicals and the unmistakable scent of an old-fashioned apothecary.
You’ll learn the traditional cold process method before creating your own beautiful batch of natural soap from scratch.
Choose your ingredients, create your own scent blend and decorate each batch entirely your own way.
No previous experience is needed. Simply come along, settle in and enjoy the wonderfully slow and satisfying art of traditional soap making.

• Learn the traditional cold process soap-making method
• Create your own fresh, botanical-inspired soap from scratch
• Explore a collection of uplifting scents, herbs and natural botanicals
• Blend, pour and decorate your soap to make it completely your own
• All ingredients, equipment and safety wear provided
• Take home approximately 10 bars of your own handmade soap
• Small workshop groups of a maximum of 12 guests, with plenty of personal guidance
Settle in with a warming cuppa, seasonal treats and music while you create — a little escape from the winter outside and a rather lovely way to begin the year.
Before or after your workshop, wander downstairs into the Hampshire Soap School & Apothecary, filled with soaps, bath treats, candles, gifts and curious little treasures.

Public parking is available nearby at Newton Lane Car Park, to the rear of the Apothecary.

Accessibility:
Our Soap School is situated on the first floor and is accessed by stairs only. Unfortunately, there is no disabled access.
Toilet facilities:
A toilet is available upstairs for workshop guests.
Age:
Workshops are not suitable for children under 14.
Booking is essential. Your confirmation email will be sent after booking — please check your junk/spam folder if it doesn’t arrive in your inbox.

✦ CANCELLATIONS & DATE CHANGES ✦
Our workshops are carefully prepared in advance and places are limited. Please read our booking policy before reserving your place.
Cancellations
Cancellations made with 14 days’ notice or more are eligible for workshop credit, which can be used towards a future workshop date.
We do not offer monetary refunds.
Changing your date
If you need to move your booking to another workshop date, we require a minimum of 7 days’ notice. All changes are subject to availability.
Cancellations or requests to change dates received with less than the required notice cannot be credited or transferred.
As a small independent business, every workshop place matters. Once spaces have been reserved, ingredients, materials and preparations are planned around the number attending, and late cancellations leave us very little opportunity to offer that place to somebody else.
